Noah Tanner loves life and the gay men who live it. Bisexuals rock too. Questioning? Even better. One-offs come and go like dates on a calendar, but his friends and his calling never do. He's spent years raising money for San Francisco's homeless in honor of the boyfriend who died.
Ensuring the success of his upscale charity event is currently job one. He's closing in on his goal, but the deliciously scruffy, oh-so-sexy Bachelor Bid contestant, Dr. Kyland Davis, is proving far too distracting.
Former Texan and no-nonsense surgeon Ky Davis prefers his beat-up Stetson boots to Louboutins. He's sacrificed a lot to help raise his siblings - including keeping his orientation a secret. After a difficult year for his sister, he'll do anything to see her smile again, even agree to participate in the fundraiser she's been hired to organize.
Unfortunately, the accompanying makeover by the irreverent and gorgeous Noah Tanner might be his undoing. Contains mature themes.
The Boyfriend Makeover Boyfriend Chronicles Series Book 3 (Audible Audio Edition) River Jaymes Marc Bachmann Tantor Audio Books
3.5 stars rounded up for Ky. Noah was never my favorite character in this series. His rather swishy mannerisms and inappropriate remarks and innuendo grated my nerves when he was on the scene. It was easy to tell that Rick's death still weighed on him in some fashion but why did his friends never confront him about his behavior? They just took his facile answers and devotion to personal bartending, at face value. Ky was a hunky cowboy turned doctor, with a wide streak of protective when it came to his sisters. I wanted to wrap him up in a blankie and take him home. Noah and Ky were initially like oil and water and there was a bit too much one step forward, two steps back.It also took too long for the story to really go anywhere. It was livened up at the times when Ky succumbed to Noah's wiles. There was bribery of a sales clerk and rimming on top of the bar (and it wasn't salt on a margarita glass). Then there was the really long scene that went ev-ery-where. It still took more than 3/4 of the book to get to the heart of things. The resolution was a little predictable but written very well with just a little twist. So there were very bright spots as well as some tedious times.
I hope there will be a book for Logan, Tyler's "boomerang boyfriend" from book one. He appears here for a short time and he's adorable! There's more revelations about Dylan and Alec's venture into parenthood, too. Book one will remain my very favorite of the series.

The Boyfriend Makeover Boyfriend Chronicles Series Book 3 (Audible Audio Edition) River Jaymes Marc Bachmann Tantor Audio Books Reviews
This was another delightful romp through the Boyfriend Chronicles. Snarky, snappy and filled with all the friends from the first two books in the series.
These two guys had a lot of trauma to work through individually and together. Their journey was difficult, but then again, nothing worth having is always handed to you on a silver platter.
Great read. Looking forward to the next (?) book in this well written series.
River kills it once again! In this book, Noah Tanner is finally brought to his knees (not that he's complaining) by Dr. Kyland Davis. Let me tell you, the heat between these men was HOT! I'm talking boxer melting, need a pitcher of ice water, jaw dropping kinda hot! I love the fact that although they couldn't have been more opposites, they were made for each other. The patience of Ky and the direct attitude of Noah went together like gin and tonic. Oh! And the scenes.......*fans myself* SPOILER ALERTI will never look at a paring knife the same again...or cowboy boots and rope for that matter, which is great being the Texas native that I am.
This book made me laugh, squirm, and made my eyes sweat (Noah's words for crying, not mine) with the turn of every page. Their journey to happily ever after was well worth the wait and you should BUY (not sample) THIS BOOK! No wait.....just start from the beginning and buy this series!
My Review
Overall 3.75
Performance 4.0
Story 3.5
This is going to be a quick review. I'll admit to being a little let down by this story. It was good...just not riveting. But I absolutely do not regret spending the time reading/listening to it.
The book is about Noah, a slightly flaming gay guy who's wracked with guilt over his partner's death. He's obviously gay and the party guy in this group of friends, but that happy exterior is hiding some dark secrets. The other half of this duo is Ky, a good old boy surgeon from Texas who's very much in the closet. He doesn't know what to do with Noah.
The two had good chemistry. It was just at times the story kind of dragged with the same mental debates over and over again. I think a few thousand words could have been cut and this book would have been stronger for it...because it was good. The story just didn't move fast enough...for my liking.
My two cents. It was good enough and definitely if you're a fan of the series, you will want to read Noah's story. There were moments that I really enjoyed and definite highlights. I loved the scenes at the ranch when finally things began to move forward.
How to review a book that grabbed my heart years before I read it... yes, I know it sounds crazy, but you heard me right. Noah is a significant character throughout The Boyfriend Chronicles. I have been waiting for his book for a long long time, and I have never been given such an amazing gift for my patience before. This is the third story in the series and for maximum reading pleasure I would say it's best to start with The Backup Boyfriend and The Boyfriend Mandate, or reread them as I did the past few days.
River Jaymes delivers an unforgettable masterpiece with The Boyfriend Makeover. Noah and Ky’s story has a relatively simple plot, but the magic happens when the writer gives this simple story so many layers, packing it with so many amazing feels that the book takes over... the story and the feelings it evokes in you take over... you live and breathe with the characters. It’s a rare, but wonderful experience you wouldn’t want to miss.
This book has everything I love in my MM romances. It has heart, amazing feels, unique characters, great depth, no unnecessary complications, and style. A style that grabs you on the first page and takes your whole being on an emotional journey you will likely never forget. I was crying at times, laughing out loud a lot. Noah is one of the greatest characters ever written. When you are in the middle of a heartbreaking scene and you are looking for a tissue, he delivers a line and you start laughing and crying some more with a huge grin on your face. I just LOVE him and this story from the bottom of my heart. We meet everyone from the previous books, see how happy they are, how they deal with some life-altering situations together, and how this wonderful group of friends form a unique family we love so much. Ky is the perfect partner who helps Noah live his life again the fullest. They have a wonderful chemistry, and a deepening connection that creates a sweet, heartwarming love story I’m going to read over and over again. Highly recommended!!!
