Well-written with some good plot twists. Having lived in Burlington, Vermont - I appreciated the author's attention to detail. Definitely a good read!
I liked this book from the start. The characters were fleshed out just enough to keep your interest in the story.
. I didn't want to stop reading once I'd started. A good thriller to keep you awake at night. The politician, as a primary character, demonstrates the true seediness of the business & the willingness to sell his soul & those around him for power, greed, & control.
The book was very involved. Kept me wanting to keep reading.
Wow ! Deboer takes everyone's darkest fears of being haunted by bad decisions of their teen aged years, to the highest degrees of dread & apprehension. This book spans decades of growth, maturity & change with the ever-lingering worry of mistakes from the past. I loved the twists and turns of the plot-line while all loose end were being tied up & the flawless climax was reached. Great story & can't wait for more!
This is a well written, complex story. The characters were developed and believable. Some of them I had to like, some I just couldn't. They all added to an excellent plot with several big surprises. I found it well worth reading.
This was one of the best books I have read in a long time. When you thought you knew what was going to happen next and "who did it"...the plot had just a little twist and things where not as you expected. Was a book I just could not put down. Loved the characters and the plot line was "believable". You could get into the lives of the characters and know that would be / could be real life. Hope to read more by this author.
