While Tyler Randolph is prospecting for gold in New Mexico to get the money to build the hotel of his dreams he finds a woman wounded and left to die in a blizzard. He can't take her into Albuquerque because he doesn't know who's trying to kill her, so he takes her to his cabin. When the killers come after her, he makes it his job to protect her. Tyler is a loner not used to have a woman around. He's very self-conscious about his tall, lanky body and the fact that he isn't handsome like his brothers.
Daisy Singleton has no idea who killed her father and tried to kill her, or why. Awakening with a head wound in a strange man's cabin, she doesn't know whether to be afraid or angry. Being stranded in a mountain cabin with a silent, kind, bossy, bear of a man is frustrating. She just wants to go to Albuquerque and stay with her friends, but Tyler won't let her leave because he still doesn't know who's trying to kill her. When Daisy tells Tyler she's engaged to be married, he hustles her down the mountain.
Although Daisy stays with Hen and Laurel and Tyler returns to this mine, their story isn't finished. There remains a killer to unmask, Daisy's independence to establish, and the need to learn the truth about their feelings toward each other.

I've read all of the seven brides series and find this one to be most disappointing. The heroine is just so self centered and annoying that it is impossible to read this book. I skipped many sections and could not make it to the conclusion. Daisy is beyond belief in her need to make her own decisions. This is true even when her life is threatened and the man she loves has done everything to win her love. She professes her love, but behaves in such a childish manner that it is more than this reader could take. What a complete waste of my money and my time. This author writes in the style of 80% what the characters are thinking and the rest actual dialogue. Now that is okay if the thinking is not just a continual rehash of the same thoughts. Tyler is a great character as are all the Randolphs, but the author could have done so much more with this story.Product details

This was a great story. Would recommend it to all my friends and family. Can 't wait to start the next Book.
I am reading the whole series and love them all. Am on Violet now and then last but not least, Lily. Highly recommend starting from the beginning with Rose.

These really should be getting more reviews they are good books. Do not let the reviews that say there is explicit sex in them scare u away. There is only one sex scene and I think it is very mild. But the series is a very good read.
Another one of my favorite authors and again he writes in the era I like, showing love and respect to each other and the hard times but the working together not only as family but neighbors that care, Yes this was a hard time but in some ways easier than in today's world.
